What is Holiday Matsuri Shootout?

Holiday Matsuri Shootout is a celebration where drivers of the future and drivers of the past join together to share their appreciation for the Florida Drift Scene. Local drifters from across the state are welcomed to showcase their skills acquired throughout the year in a chance to receive recognition for hard driving in a series of judged criteria’s such as Best and Fastest Entry, Best Backwards Entry, Best Missile, and Best Tandem.

To differentiate this event from the vast organizers in the state, we had to come up with a certain “it” factor and we chose nostalgia as that factor. So, we have reached out to a select group of OG members of the Florida Drifting Scene to either drive or assist us in positions such as announcer, tech, and grid support.

Another aspect we wanted to touch on is inclusivity. It shouldn’t be hard for newer drivers just hitting the scene to befriend anyone in the scene, especially those who hold a certain level of notoriety or popularity amongst Florida Drivers. Back in the day, we feel that this was addressed when CFRC organizer Steven Purcell(circa.2011) would host an event called ” Aftermath” where Formula Drift drivers would meet, greet and drive along side the average joes of the scene. So we invited an array of highly skilled drivers competing in circuit from KlutchKickers to Formula Drift.
